Relax to the sounds of the rushing creek outside in the hammock,fireside on the porch or inside on the window seat overlooking the creek. The cedar-sided cabin is the perfect rustic mountain cabin, located in 2+ secluded, heavily -wooded acres in the Tusquittee/Compass Creek area. Compass Creek borders the Nantahala National Forest and was at one time being considered for acquisition by the National Forest Service because of its beauty. The creek winds onto our property and sits right off the back of the cabin, meandering along the full length of the house for 250 feet. The creek seems to have a life of its own, as it changes from calm slow flow during dry seasons to rushing, roaring waters after a good rain. We've had lots of rain this year and creek is running really strong. LOTS OF FIREPLACES TOO: Wood-burning fireplace in living area; Gas fireplace on screened porch; Firepit on deck RealFlame electric fireplace in master bedroom.

The cabin is cedar tongue and groove throughout, for a rustic mountain feeling. It's tastefully decorated with comfort a priority. In the living area, with its huge stone fireplace, you'll find a luscious leather sofa and club chair and an 8-foot window seat. The window seat overlooks the creek and triples as a bed or additional dining seating. There are lots of outside living areas to enjoy the creek too - a deck off the living room, a screened sleeping porch with gas fireplace, a hammock, and an outdoor dining area off the creek. The master bedroom has a king bed and a full private bath; the second bedroom has a queen log bed. Beds accomodate 4 guests comfortably. Beds are the best quality and VERY comfortable. 1 additional adult or 2 small kids sleep comfortably on the window seat. Camp out in luxury on the full-size futon on the screened sleeping porch off the creek or use that futon mattress to sleep inside in front of the living room fireplace. There are 2 full baths. |

 Rental includes most of the comforts of home: satelite television in the living room and each of the two bedrooms (with TIVO in the living room!), small stereo, cordless telephones, hi-ct linens, plush towels, washer/dryer, gas barbecue and a fully-equipped kitchen. We offer UNLIMITED LONG DISTANCE (your cell phone will not work at the cabin). Local DIAL-UP INTERNET is available on your computer and there is a PRINTER/FAX. |
